SLHS is where it is today due to the hard work and contributions of many people over the years, but I would like to give a special shout-out to Andy Mace. Along with his parents, Andy was a charter member when SLHS was founded back in 1974.
I don’t know when Andy took over as the editor of our quarterly newsletter Historical Highlights, but he continues as editor and publisher to this day.
In the year 2000, Andy brought SLHS (probably kicking and screaming if modern day is any guide) into the internet age with sandlakehistory.org and he has continued to donate his time and the costs involved with maintaining the domain and the website.
As you look abound this site you will notice many links to sandlakehistory.org. That is because this site was built while we were standing on the shoulders of a giant.
